Metal Gear English Voice Talent V

Here’s yet another entry listing off MG’s talented English cast. There are some spoilers.

Neill Ross is the voice of Volgin, the main villain of Metal Gear Solid 3 (Who also appears in V, but not voiced by Ross), and one of the less sympathetic in the series. Ross is another voice acting legend, with multiple roles in the Transformers series,  as well as several Marvel animated series. He’s also a well-known radio/narrator voice in films, appearing as such in Back to The Future II and Gremlins II. Apart from Volgin his video game credentials are very good, as he did the voice for several games in the “Star Wars” series in addition to other games.

Brian Cummings is the voice actor of the cowardly professor Sokolov, who is being used by Volgin to create the Shagohod. Brian Cummings is perhaps best known for his Disney work, including many of their TV shows such as Ducktales and Gummi Bears, as well as a voice for several of their advertisements.

Greg Eagles provides the voice of three ill-fated characters; the cyborg ninja incarnation of Grey Fox, the DARPA chief Donald Anderson (In fact FOXHOUND member Decoy Octopus in disguise) and Peter Stillman. Greg is the voice of Grim in the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy. He’s also provided voices for the Afro Samurai and Garfield animations, and video game wise has contributed to Grand Theft Auto V as multiple civilians.

John Cygan is the voice of Solidus Snake, the final son/clone of Big Boss, and the one most closely resembling him at middle age, as well as the main who semi-raised Raiden.

Cygan has done many voices for Pixar movies, and for the Star Wars games, he was the voice of Dash Rendar-the hero of the “Shadows of the Empire” game, and also Canderous Ordo, the Mandalorian warrior who joins the party in “Knights of the Old Republic”. He also has had many voices in the Regular Show series.

Richard Doyle plays both the Fury, and is the third English actor to play Big Boss after David Hayter and Kiefer Sutherland-in Metal Gear Solid IV, as the anti-hero visits the cemetery to make final amends with his son before dying (In that game, Hayter voices Solid Snake, so they had to use another actor for Big Boss, or he’d pretty much be talking to himself-although Kiefer does voice both Big Boss and Venom Snake talking to each other in Metal Gear Solid V-not nearly as much dialogue there though!). Doyle had a recurring role on Cheers as Walter Gaines, and he also had a small role in Air Force One. Animation wise he’s done voices for Ben 10, and in other games he’s also worked on Legacy of Kain (as well as Ben 10 voices).
